Our client from Neath Port Talbot got in touch after a heavy bedpost fell against the driver’s side rear door, leaving a deep and rather unsightly dent. The priority? To avoid any repainting if at all possible.

The Challenges
This repair came with several complications:
• The depth and awkward location of the dent
• The rear door had to be removed and refitted
• The metal was incredibly tough, which made the repair more demanding
Land Rover Defenders are known for being rugged and robust fantastic for off roading, but not so forgiving when it comes to Paintless Dent Repair. The metal didn’t exactly want to cooperate, but we were up for the challenge.

How We Carried Out the Repair
To gain proper access and control, we removed the door from the Defender and placed it flat on a stand. This allowed us to work on the dent carefully using:
• Controlled heat
• Precision pushing from behind the panel
• Careful knock down work to blend the dent back into the panel
Despite the resistance from the panel, we managed to make significant progress using a combination of advanced PDR techniques and sheer persistence.

The Result
While the repair isn’t completely flawless (due to the nature of the dent and how the metal behaved), the result was a substantial 95% improvement and, crucially, we avoided the need for any paintwork, which was the client’s main concern.
They were absolutely over the moon with the outcome.
